My Aetna Medicare value plan clearly says on the card that referrals are not needed. That was part of the sales pitch for this plan. I call BS. Every specialist insists on a referral, a fact made worse by the failure of our pcp to follow through with requested referrals. When they do send one, it is incomplete and must be returned for correction. The medical system is broken
