How much does Avis hold on credit card?
Your card will be charged the amount of the rental plus a $250 minimum hold for credit and debit cards at the time of rental. When you return your vehicle Avis will release the unused portion of the hold. The funds may take up to two weeks to be released by your bank.
Does Avis really do a credit check?
If Avis is unable to complete the credit check or if the location does not perform credit checks, the customer must be prepared to present additional identification. Airport locations will accept your round trip ticket, itinerary or e-ticket to or from the renting airport with a return date.
