My name is A Bradford Swain (Brad)
My NH E-ZPass Account # is 01-0001489683.
I travelled by car from Connecticut through Massachusetts to New Hampshire on 04/27/21. The NH E-ZPass transponder in my vehicle during this trip was 02601190504. It was properly mounted on the top middle of my windshield.
I passed through the following 3 toll plazas during the trip:
1. Hopkinton – East (Massachusetts Turnpike)
2. Bedford
3. Hooksett Ramp
It appears that my transponder was not successfully read by your equipment while passing through the Bedford toll plaza but was read while passing through the other 2 toll plazas. On May 15, 2021, I was issued an invoice totaling $2.00 for lack of toll payment. I disputed the invoice to NH E-ZPass.
I maintained that I owed $0.70. Your Bedford toll plaza equipment failed to successfully read my NH E-ZPass transponder. I talked by phone with 2 NH E-ZPass Call Center representatives about the invoice. They both agreed to remove the $1.00 Processing Fee but said they could not reduce the toll amount from $1.00 to $0.70 which would be the proper thing to do.
After I opened a case with NH E-ZPass, Celeste E. Soucy got involved and resolved the case to my satisfaction.
I asserted to Celeste that first level NH E-ZPass Customer Service phone representatives should have the authority and ability to make minor corrections to customer accounts for situations like mine? The exorbitant amount of phone time and manpower expended to resolve my situation was not cost effective for NHDOT. Time is money. I'd be interested in hearing back from you.
